In a bid to add to the existing metro network, the MahaMetro has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for Pimpri-Nigdi Metro route — the proposed extension of the Pimpri-Swargate Metro corridor involving an investment worth ₹1,100 crore, MD, Brijesh Dixit, said, elaborating that the length of the planed new metro network would be about 4-km and it will help easing traffic congestion on the stretch during peak hours. The metro is all set to present DPR to the municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar, among others, to fast track the project by starting the construction work as quickly as possible.
