The state government in Maharashtra is all set to start road projects worth ₹6,740 crore in Vidarbha and Nagpur area, said sources, elaborating that road works worth ₹3,607.34 crore are set to be launched in various parts of Vidarbha very shortly and road projects to the tune of ₹3,133.26 crore are currently at the tendering stage and would be taken up in the immediate future. Of the first lot of road works will combine with 18 packages comprising two to five roads each and will be executed in Nagpur revenue division. Similarly, four packages costing ₹563.26 crore will be executed in Amravati revenue division. The state's public works department (PWD) has issued letter of award to contractors for 22 packages. Works will start after execution of agreements and that the tendering process for four other packages costing ₹381.88 crore is going on for Nagpur division, and 18 packages costing ₹2,751.38 crore for Amravati division, sources added.
