In order to boost air connectivity in the state, the state government in Maharashtra has recently given a ‘go ahead’ signal to the identified site in Pune, to build a new international airport in the state, Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis said, adding that a team of Airports Authority of India (AAI) has also given final approval to the proposed site for the Pune International Airport in Purandar sub-division of the District. It may be recalled that the team of AAI, which had conducted feasibility survey of proposed land in area, has given its approval and AAI has agreed that the land is suitable for the mega airport project and after the approval, the state will now start the further process to kick-start the construction work of the airport.
