Mumbai Port Unveils Rs 5,028 Crore Development Pipeline on 154th Foundation Day

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced a development pipeline of 63 projects worth Rs 5,028.17 crore as the Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) celebrated its 154th Foundation Day, reaffirming the Centre's commitment to transforming the port into a modern, sustainable and future-ready maritime hub.

The development programme includes seven inaugurated projects worth Rs 132.29 crore, foundation stones for 34 projects valued at Rs 1,354.59 crore, and the announcement of 22 new projects worth Rs 3,541.29 crore. The projects span port infrastructure, waterfront development, logistics and operational efficiency.

During the event, Sonowal also dedicated the Indira Dock Operations and Maintenance Agreement and the Viksit Bharat Mumbai Marina Agreement, which are expected to improve port operations, accelerate waterfront development and enhance the utilisation of Mumbai Port's assets.

Today, as India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our ports are evolving into engines of economic growth, sustainability and global competitiveness. The projects showcased today reflect our commitment to building world-class port infrastructure, improving logistics efficiency, promoting cruise tourism, strengthening coastal shipping and creating opportunities for future generations,” Sonowal said.
