Leh airport gets Rs. 200-cr expansion

As a matter of fact, there has been a noticeable increase in flight movements in recent times. Leh airport handled little over four lakh passengers in the last financial year. During the same period, there were 3,434 aircraft movements but recently the Jammu and Kashmir government said it would take up with the Centre, the issue of land for construction of a terminal building at the airport. As per Indian Air Force sources, they will hand over 11.8 acres of land to AAI for the construction of new terminal building only after getting No Objection Certificate(NOC) from the state government for 28 acres of land.
