LDA plans mixed used project along Gomti River

Lucknow Development Authority (LDA)
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided to construct housing and commercial projects along the banks of the Gomti river in view of the decreasing land parcel in the city. A proposal has been sent to the state government which, after approval, will be included in Lucknow‘s Master Plan for 2031. According to LDA officials, the new housing units can be developed 200 metres away from the river banks. The plan has been adopted from cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Delhi and Bengaluru, said Chief Engineer, LDA, Indu Shekhar Singh. The agency has carried out an ecological study of the project. Toilets constructed in these flats will have septic tanks rather than drains connecting the river and that it has talked to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) for laying pipes for washrooms and kitchen water waste.
