L&T wins Rs 5,000–10,000 Cr Contract for Riyadh Metro Red Line Extension in Saudi Arabia

The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major contract valued between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore from the Royal Commission of Riyadh City for the extension of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia. The order is part of an ultra-mega project awarded to a consortium comprising Webuild, L&T, Nesma & Partners Contracting, Alstom and IDOM.

The scope of work relates to the extension of the Red Line of the Riyadh Metro network and includes the design and turnkey construction of an 8.4 km metro corridor with a mix of elevated and underground sections, along with five stations. The project further strengthens L&T’s global footprint in urban mass transit infrastructure and reflects its proven expertise in delivering complex, high-capacity metro systems across international markets.
