L&T takes up Rs. 2,778-cr contracts across biz segments

Adding to its project portfolio in the across its business segments, the L&T Construction, which is a wholly owned arm of Larsen and Toubro, has recently secured combined contracts worth Rs. 2,778 crore. The first contract, which entailed an investment worth 1,387 crore, contains scope of work of building an iconic bridge across the river Krishna at Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business of the company will design and construct a 3.2 km, six-lane iconic bridge across the river Krishna, which includes 2.72 km of approach bridges, on EPC basis. The bridge will connect Pavitrasangamam in Vijayawada and N-10 Road in Amaravati. The mega project, which was received from Amaravati Development Corporation Limited (ADCL), has to be maintained by the company for 5 years after its commissioning. In the second case, orders have been bagged by its wholly owned subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE at a cost of Rs 1,391 crore. LTHE won orders in excess of Rs 750 crore in its construction services business vertical and that its smart world and communication business also secured an order worth Rs 209 crore and that the water effluent treatment business has secured orders worth Rs 432 crore, said an official spokesperson.
