L&T secures ₹7,000-cr construction contracts

L&T Construction has secured a contract of over ₹7,000 crore in the aviation sector for design and construction of a major airport on EPC basis. Construction will be undetaken for the Passenger Terminal Building, a new runway and rehabilitation of an exiting runway, taxiways and aprons, a new elevated eastern cross taxiway, land-side roads, utility infrastructure, drainage and modifications for the existing terminal, the company announced in a media statement but did not disclose the location of the project. The contract also includes baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, airport security systems, visual docking guidance systems, vertical horizontal transportation, airfield’s ground lighting, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works.
