L&T Construction takes up ₹5,000-cr contracts

Adding to its order book, Larsen and Toubro’s wholly owned subsidiary in the water & effluent treatment segment, L&T Construction, has secured ₹5,000 crore multiple orders from government agencies and municipal corporations across three states in the country. The construction major has classified the order inflow as "major" since the beginning of this quarter as it won two orders from the Water Resources Department of Tamil Nadu government including Athikadavu-Avinashi Scheme for farmers as the scheme is expected to irrigate a total of 9,902 hectares of land and the second order from the state government is for the construction of a new regulator across the southern and northern arms of the Coleroon river on the downstream side of the existing regulator at Mukkombu (Upper Anaicut) near Tiruchirappalli. It also secured contract from the Vellore Municipal Corporation in Tamil Nadu for providing an Underground Sewerage Collection system involving providing sewer network of about 280 km. In Jharkhand, among other states, it won two EPC orders from the state’s Water and Resources and also from Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Co Ltd (JUIDCO) for the construction of allied infra facilities.
