Komatsu Acquires GHH Group to Enhance Underground Mining Offerings

Komatsu has completed the acquisition of GHH Group GmbH, a leading manufacturer of underground mining, tunnelling, and special civil engineering equipment based in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. This acquisition significantly enhances Komatsu’s product range, particularly in loaders (LHDs) and articulated dump trucks, while providing comprehensive aftermarket parts and service support.

Peter Salditt, President of Komatsu's Mining Business Division, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "The talented GHH staff are now part of Komatsu, and our new combined team will work together to expand offerings and increase customer access to products in new territories."

Komatsu aims to strengthen its production and service capabilities globally by incorporating GHH’s facilities in Europe, Southern Africa, India, and Chile. This strategic investment is set to bolster Komatsu’s position in the underground mining sector, supporting both new and existing customer operations worldwide.
