KKR commits ₹1,800 cr in three realty projects

In a bid to boost its fortunes in the country’s real estate sector, KKR & Co has decided to invest ₹1,800 crore in three mid-market real estate projects in Mumbai, said an official spokesperson, adding that it will KKR has earmarked ₹750 crore each to a newly launched commercial office project of Lodha Developers in Central Mumbai and an up market residential project of Shapoorji Pallonji in South Mumbai. It will fund another ₹300 crore to a Thane-based residential project of Paranjpe Scheme Constructions. With these, KKR’s investments in the Indian real estate space in 2018 will come around ₹2,500 crore. Besides financing new projects, KKR has also made follow-on investments in projects including Bhartiya City Developers’ Bengaluru Township. Prior to this, the company has invested about $1.5 billion in 30 projects across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Chennai, and Pune, he added.
