Kennametal India Showcases Advanced Cutting Tool Solutions at Technology Evening in Pune

Kennametal India Limited participated in a Technology Evening hosted in collaboration with GROB Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd., Renishaw, and OPEN MIND at Sayaji Hotel, Pune. The event brought together industry professionals, customers, and technology leaders to discuss the latest innovations shaping aerospace, die & mold, and mechanical engineering manufacturing.

At the event, Kennametal showcased its comprehensive portfolio of precision cutting tools, including KenDrill™ Deep HPR solid carbide drills, Fix-Perfect 90° milling solutions, HSS taps, and the RHM™ Modular Reaming System, all engineered to deliver higher efficiency, productivity, and machining quality.

Kennametal partners presented various technologies:

GROB presented its cutting-edge 5-axis universal machining centers—G150, G350, G550, and G750—designed to future-proof production and maximize efficiency. These machines offer near-limitless milling capabilities across a wide range of materials. A key highlight was the unique axis arrangement for overhead machining: three linear and two rotary axes form horizontal AB kinematics, enabling both 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis machining.
Renishaw showcased its industry-leading measurement and testing technologies, including its machine tool probes that integrate seamlessly with GROB machines to automate processes, reduce downtime and drive productivity on the shop floor.
OPEN MIND Technologies showcased their most advanced CAD/CAM software, hyperMILL. This software includes many powerful features such as: MAXX Machining Finishing – Barrel Cutter, useful for reducing finishing time by up to 70% on the machine; High Precision Mode, for enhancing finishing quality on the machine; and State-of-the-Art Virtual Machine – Digital Twin, an NC-code-based simulation with full-proof post-processing that ensures machine safety.
