Kashmir-Delhi Vande Bharat Train to be Inaugurated in January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express connecting Kashmir to New Delhi on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) in January 2025.

This landmark train service will traverse the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge. Of the 272-kilometer USBRL project, 255 kilometers have been completed, with the remaining 17 kilometers between Katra and Reasi on track for completion by December. The phased commissioning of this train marks a significant milestone in connecting the valley directly to the national capital.
