road Corridor
Karnataka Government has planned to build ₹2,000 crore signal-free road corridor, including six flyovers and underpasses. The plan is to resolve the perennial problem of traffic congestion on Tumakuru Road, one of the busiest highways in the city. A proposal along with the blueprint and detailed project report has been sent to the State government by NHAI as the state has sought funds for the project.

Commissioner, Bengaluru civic body, N. Manjunath Prasad, informed that the corridor will include flyovers and underpasses at BEL, Taj Yeshwantpur junction, Outer Ring Road, Tumakuru Road, Pipeline Road and HMT Junction. The project will be completed in the next five years. The land belonging to defence and private properties will be acquired. Work on the project will be taken up in phases, after traffic diversions, to minimize inconvenience to local road users. The corridor will provide connectivity to many arterial roads, including Mysuru Road, Hosur Road, Old Madras Road, Ballari Road and Kempegowda International Airport Road and is expected to go a long way in easing traffic congestion.
