Karnataka gets Rs. 925-cr infra projects

In order to add to its infra facilities including road network, the transport ministry has recently cleared infra projects for Hubballi-Dharwad area entailing a whopping investment worth Rs. 925cr, which is also expected to boost other infra activities in around the twin-cities, said transport minister, adding that worth Rs. 625-cr will be invested on creating allied infra an additional Rs. 300-cr will be spent on the construction of flyovers at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi and Jubilee Circle in Dharwad among other things, it will also facilitate the development of NH-4A from Ramanagar to the State's border with Goa. In addition, the ministry has also launched the strengthening and widening of Vijaypura- Hubballi section of National Highway 218 worth Rs. 462cr. These apart, the transport minister has also announced two Road Over Bridges (ROBs) for Vijayapura and Koppal districts but as of now there is no clarity cost-sharing ratio for the development of projects that required land acquisition as a decision to this effect will be taken after detailed negotiations in the national capital but the state government is prevailing upon the Centre to bear 75% of the total cost involved in executing these and score of other projects.
