In a bid to provide hassle free transport services in the area, the state government in Karnataka has speed up the construction of Mangaluru-Athradi State Highway- 67 and a DPR of the project has been submitted by Coastal Development Authority (CDA) to the government, State Planning Board Vice Chairman B J Puttaswamy said, adding that a detailed project report for ₹780 crore road to develop Mangaluru-Karwar fisheries road with the help of National Fisheries Development Board, the CDA has constructed 35 fish markets, including 11 fish markets, in three coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada. A preliminary report on multi-village drinking water scheme has also been submitted to the state government. This project aims at supplying water to 25 villages in Dakshina Kannada and 26 villages in Udupi district, Puttaswamy added. In the outgoing fiscal, the CDA out of ₹1,109.08 lakh, has invested ₹709.40 lakh in completing 92 works and the remaining portion of works are currently being carried out on fast tracked basis.
