JSW lines up ₹7,500 cr expansion in Karnataka plant
Leading integrated steel manufacturer JSW Steel plans to push its manufacturing capacity at Vijayanagar plant in Karnataka to 18 million tons per annum (MTPA), entailing an investment of ₹7,500 crore, chairman and managing director Sajjan Jindal has said, elaborating that the plan is to take to the next step to 18 MTPA from 13 MTPA. The capacity expansion is set to start very shortly. The plant currently has a12 million tons per annum (MTPA) capacity and that about the expansion of the company’s Dolvi unit in Maharashtra, he added that as of now the company is expanding its Dolvi plant close to Bombay from 5 million tons to 10 million tons and that the laid down target will be achieved by March 2020 and the progress is at full swing actually and revealed that the company is planning to spend around ₹43,000 crore in the next three years.
