JK Cement sharpens ₹1,700-cr expansion plans

JK Cement will invest ₹1,700 crore on enhancing its production capacity from the current 10 million tons to 15 million tons per annum by the end of 2020. It is also entering new markets such as Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Other measures include addition of 1 MT grinding capacity at the company's plants in Nimbahera and Mangrol. Business Head of grey cement, Rajnish Kapur, informed that the company is setting up grinding units at Balasinor in Gujarat and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh and both facilities will be sourcing clinker from Mangrol in Rajasthan where a brownfield expansion of 3.5 MT will come into operation in the second quarter of this fiscal.
