Jharkhand gets Rs.120 cr Plastic Park

In a major boost to infra building and job generation in Jharkhand, the Union government has sanctioned Rs.120 crore for setting up a Plastic Park on an area of 150 acres in Deoghar district of the state, said official sources claiming that the Centre is also ready to establish a Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology in the state provided the state allocates land or building for the facility. The park in question cleared recently will have units that will manufacture woven sacks, molded furniture, plastic crates, HDPE plastic combs, water tanks, bottles, pipes, small containers, toys, mosquito nets and leno bags among others. Currently, there are 40 CIPET centres across the country and the government aims to set up additional 10, so that the country has sufficient resources of plastic technicians and engineers to meet the industry demand, he added.
