The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to construct a new Terminal Building, extension of runway, new apron, new ATC tower cum Technical Block, new Fire Station, install ILS, relocate DVOR, construct boundary wall and perimeter road at Jabalpur Airport at an estimated cost of Rs.421 crore. The nodal agency has initiated the tender process for appointment of Project Management Consultant for construction of Terminal Building capable of handling 500 (250 arriving + 250 departing) peak hour passengers. Existing terminal building can cater only to 75 arriving + 75 departing passengers, suitable for only one flight. Construction of new Terminal Building is intended to facilitate operation of 2 flights simultaneously with higher passenger load per aircraft.
