J&K Government Undertakes Srinagar Road Upgrades to Ease Traffic Congestion

The Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated multiple road and corridor improvement projects to enhance traffic flow across downtown and arterial routes in Srinagar. The works aim to address congestion and ensure smoother movement of ambulances, fire services and other emergency vehicles in the summer capital.

The upgrades are being executed in phases and include resurfacing, strengthening, drainage correction and junction remodelling under Roads and Building grants and other infrastructure schemes. Projects under implementation include the Nowshera–Soura KZP Road, Saida Kadal–Ashaibagh SMS Road, Devi Angan–Hawal road and improvements at Alamgiri Bazar Chowk and Mirza Kamil Sahib Chowk corridors.
