IPTS 2025 Highlights AI, Smart Tech & Sustainability in Airport Infra
The inaugural edition of the Inter Passenger Terminal Show (IPTS) 2025 concluded successfully, spotlighting AI-driven airport technologies, next-gen infrastructure, and sustainable development. Organized by Media Fusion, the event aligned with India’s goal to become a top-three global aviation market by 2030.

IPTS 2025 saw participation from over 60 speakers and exhibitors representing 10 countries, including major players like Digi Yatra, Dormakaba, and Diamond Engineering. Navi Mumbai International Airport partnered as the strategic host. The event attracted aviation leaders, government officials, and tech providers to explore future-ready passenger terminals.
Sessions focused on biometric access, AI/ML-based systems, smart baggage handling, digital security, intermodal connectivity, and green airport ecosystems. Key highlights included discussions on zero-trust architecture, quantum encryption, and the keynote on "Sustainable Airport Ecosystems," which offered insights on reducing emissions while enhancing operational efficiency.
With India planning investments of over ₹60,000 crore in airport infrastructure by 2027, IPTS 2025 provided a critical platform for innovation, policy dialogue, and global collaboration in transforming the nation’s airport and terminal ecosystem.
The speaker line-up featured notable leaders such as Capt. BVJK Sharma, CEO, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA); Prabhat Mahapatra, COO, NMIA; Hitarth Mankodi, COO, Mumbai International Airport Ltd; Suresh Khadakbhavi, CEO, Digi Yatra Foundation; Jens Reinhard, Managing Director, GATE – German Airport Technology & Equipment Alliance; Sven Deckers, Director – Sustainability, Innovation & Partnerships, Dubai Airports; Dr. Sumeet Suseelan, Member, Ministry of Civil Aviation – AAC, among others.
“India’s aviation sector is not just growing—it is transforming,” said Taher Patrawala, Managing Director, Media Fusion. “With the global debut of IPTS 2025, we brought together infrastructure leaders to drive smarter, more human-centric airport experiences. The event was a call to action for greater collaboration, integration of AI and sustainability, and a renewed focus on the passenger at the centre of it all.”
A key theme across sessions was the rise of AI/ML-powered security and passenger flow, biometric boarding, and smart terminal design. With India’s domestic aviation market now the third-largest globally, IPTS 2025 aimed to showcase ideas that bridge technology and user experience.
“At Digi Yatra, we believe technology should act as a powerful enabler — seamlessly connecting passengers, systems, and processes,” said Suresh Khadakbhavi, CEO of Digi Yatra Foundation. “Our goal is to create a trusted digital travel ecosystem where identity and movement are frictionless, yet remain centered on the human experience. IPTS 2025 provided a vital platform to engage with policymakers and industry leaders who are instrumental in bringing this vision to scale.”
As India strengthens its aviation and urban infrastructure ambitions, IPTS will continue to serve as a critical platform for thought leadership, innovation showcases, and public-private collaboration. The 2025 edition marked the beginning of a robust dialogue on the convergence of technology, design, and service in Indian airports of the future.
