Indian govt approves ₹4,000-cr for infra projects under PM Gati Shakti

The Indian government has approved the disbursement of ₹4,000 crore for infrastructural projects under the PM Gati Shakti Scheme. This funding will be provided as part of the "Scheme for Special Assistance to the States for Capital Investment for 2022-2023," which aims to allocate ₹1 lakh crore in the form of a 50-year, interest-free loan for capital investments. A total of 190 projects from 28 states have been considered under this scheme, with a total value of more than ₹5,000 crore. According to Dr. Surendra Ahirwar, Joint Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, most of these projects have already been approved for disbursement by the Department of Expenditure.
