The Union government has given the nod for ₹1,084 crore to be allocated to various government agencies to improve roads and infrastructure for the upcoming G20 summit. Different government bodies have created a detailed plan of action to enhance infrastructure, repair roads, pavements, signage and street furniture, and beautify the city by installing fountains and sculptures, strengthening public transport, and organizing various events. The agencies have already been instructed to commence work, and the Delhi government has requested ₹927 crore from the Centre to be spent on G20-related works and events.

It is noteworthy that among 200 meetings taking place across 32 different work streams in 50 Indian cities, eight, including the main summit, will be held in Delhi. While six of these meetings will take place in September, one each will be held in March and June.
