Centre clears ₹3,900-cr for cross-country infra projects

The Centre government has approved ₹3,900 crore for building rail, road and allied infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The transport ministry has sanctioned widening and strengthening of NH-334A (Purkaji – Laksar – Haridwar Road section) to two-lane with paved shoulders under EPC model in UP at ₹227.06 crore. The ministry has also sanctioned widening and strengthening work of NH- 330D (section from Sitapur to Kurain) to two-lane with paved shoulders under EPC model involving ₹505 crore investments. The project also includes the development of six-lane access-controlled Spur to Haridwar from Delhi – Saharanpur – Dehradun Economic corridor on Hybrid Annuity Model under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The railway ministry has also sanctioned ₹2,095.21 crore for building rail lines in both states. Besides, improvement and up-gradation work of NH-227A (Near Sikriiganj to Barhaiganj) to two lanes with paved shoulder under EPC mode has also been sanctioned involving ₹403.36 crore investments. In addition, the transport ministry has also approved the widening and improvement work to four-lane with paved shoulder from Dillai to Lahorijan of Daboka – Manja Package 7 of NH- 29 at a cost of ₹204.10 crore. Moreover, construction work of three realignments Drass, Kharboo and Kargil between Pandrass – Pashkyum on Road Zozila – Kargil – Leh (NH-1) with two-lane under Project Vijayak (BRO) has also been approved on EPC model involving ₹426.14 crore investment in Ladakh.
