Indian Railways & IIT Madras Collaborate to Advance Hyperloop Technology

Indian Railways is taking a significant step toward futuristic transportation with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and IIT Madras to advance Hyperloop technology. The project has secured Rs. 20.89 crore funding to establish a Centre of Excellence for Hyperloop Technology at IIT Madras.

Hyperloop, still in its nascent stage, is expected to be faster, more energy-efficient, and sustainable than conventional transportation. The initiative aims to develop a sub-scale model of a Hyperloop pod, a test track, and a vacuum tube facility for technology validation, paving the way for India's leadership in next-generation mobility.
