India to Develop Six Mega Port Clusters by 2047

India plans to develop six port clusters into Mega Ports by 2047 under the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision, 2047.
Four port clusters—Cochin-Vizhinjam, Galathea South Bay, Chennai-Kamarajar-Cuddalore, and Paradip along with other non-major ports—will have a combined capacity of over 300 MTPA. Two larger clusters—Deendayal-Tuna Tekra and Jawaharlal Nehru-Vadhavan—will exceed 500 MTPA in capacity.
The capacity expansion and infrastructure upgrades at major ports are already in progress through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and internal funding.
