India Aims to Become $4 Billion MRO Hub by 2030: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the 81st Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the World Air Transport Summit in Delhi, outlined the government’s vision to position India as a $4 billion aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) hub by 2030.
Highlighting significant progress in the sector, the Prime Minister noted that the number of MRO facilities in the country has risen from 97 in 2014 to 154. This growth has been driven by key reforms, including the reduction in goods and services tax, rationalisation of taxes, and permitting 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) under the automatic route.
