In order to expand its ambit in the country’s real estate sector, the Kolkata-based Emami Infra has targeted premium residential projects in the smart city projects. Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh and Madurai in Tamil Nadu are the two smart city schemes where it is exploring multiple options, including a township project along with premium residencies. In addition, Bhubaneshwar is another city that the company has placed on its realty radar and will build three mega projects there, said Advisor, Emami Infra, R K Agarwal, adding that it is investing Rs.400 crore in Jhansi and Rs.200 crore will be spent on its upcoming projects in Bhubaneshwar. Apart from this, it has also acquired a large chunk of land in Madurai for which it is currently preparing a roadmap to launch new projects and all these projects are being financed either from its internal resources or borrowing from financial institutions, he claimed.
