IGI-Jewar airports to get rail, road or metro links

Airport
In order to provide speedy connectivity between IGIA and the upcoming Jewar airports, the UP government is currently working on a plan to build rail, road metro link for passengers flying into one and will have to take connecting flights from the other. In this connection, the state government will soon appoint a consultant to work out plans, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) chairman, Prabhat Kumar, said, adding that the consultant will identify a direct link between the two airports which will be in addition to the proposed Metro line which will be extended to Jewar. Currently, driving between IGIA and Jewar takes over two hours and when Jewar airport becomes operational, traffic will grow manifold increasing the travel substantially. The metro line currently cleared till Pari Chowk in Greater Noida will also be extended to Jewar and even this link of about 23 km connecting Pari Chowk to YEIDA Sector 20 will not be a viable option and this has prompted the state government to work out way outs, he claimed.
