HCC–HDC JV secures ₹2,126-cr coastal road contract

Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC), in a joint venture with Hyundai Development Corporation (HDC), has been awarded a ₹2,126 crore contract by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), for design and construction of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project, Package II, Director & Group CEO, HCC, Arjun Dhawan, said. HCC's share in the JV is 55% (₹1,169 crore) and the project is to be completed in 4 years. The Mumbai coastal road will decongest inner city roads, reduce travel time, and improve air quality around residential neighborhoods. For HCC, this prestigious and technically challenging project is a matter of pride and a natural extension of the Bandra Worli Sea Link constructed by it. The scope of work includes design and construction of road, bridges, interchanges including reclamation and associated works between Baroda Palace near Haji Ali and the Worli end of Bandra Worli Sea Link. MCGM has envisaged the Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP) along the western seafront of the city. This ambitious project intends to connect the iconic Marine Drive in the south to Kandivili in the north.
