Haryana unveils twin multi-model transit hubs

Haryana Govt
The Haryana government plans to build two multi-modal transit centres to link different modes of transport in the Gurgaon city. While one centre will be developed in Kherki Dhaula, the second one is likely to come up in Pachgaon, Manesar. The land for the two projects is being made available by the Haryana State Industry and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). The centres will be developed by the state transport department in consultation with the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC).The transit centre in Kherki Dhaula is likely to be developed on 15 acres of land and the Pachgaon centre is likely to come up on 10 acres of land near the proposed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) stations. Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority is the coordinating agency for the projects. The centres will be situated close to the metro stations so that they are easily approachable from all the lines. For instance, the centre at Pachgaon will be equally accessible from RRTS, MRTS as well as Orbit Rail. The centres will also be connected with the city bus service so that commuters can easily switch between different modes of transport.
