Gwalior-Chambal expressway gets ₹8,000-cr infusion

Gwalior-Chambal expressway
The Union Government has sanctioned ₹8,000 crore for the Gwalior-Chambal Expressway project. The funds have been sanctioned by the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, for it. The expressway, with an estimated length of 404 km, will connect Rajasthan's Kota and Uttar Pradesh's Etawah, along the bank of the river Chambal. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed that while paying tribute to the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary, the expressway will be named as Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Chambal Progressway.
