Gujarat Govt inks MoU for 1,450-acre Logistics Park
The Gujarat government has signed an MoU with Adani Ports and SEZ Limited for setting up the country's biggest multimodal logistics Park at Virochan Nagar near the country's automobile hub – Sanand in Ahmedabad district. The park will spread across an area of 1,450 acres and is expected to attract an investment of ₹50,000 crore. Construction for the Park is expected to start shortly after securing mandatory approvals and the entire project will be completed in a phased manner by 2023. The state CM informed that the project will be directly connected with the dedicated freight corridor and all major ports while being in line with PM's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The park, which will make businesses more competitive globally, will also provide connectivity to the biggest auto hub and upcoming industrial areas in the region. With a dedicated air cargo complex, the park will provide direct air, rail and road connectivity to people in the state. The air cargo terminal will have a 4.6km runway which will be capable of handling airplanes and will also provide a global platform to the local export and import market. A rail freight terminal, which is also a part of the Park, will be directly connected to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
