Gujarat CM Reviews ₹11,735 Cr Development Projects in Tourism, Metro & Industrial Infra

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviewed the progress of 12 major development projects worth ₹11,735 crore, spanning tourism, metro rail, and industrial infrastructure across the state.

Tourism projects worth ₹4,184 crore, led by the Tourism Department, were assessed. These include the comprehensive development of Ambaji, restoration of the Mahakali Mata Temple in Pavagadh, mangrove and creek development along the coast, and transforming Mokarsagar in Porbandar into a tourism destination. Other key initiatives under review were the Dwarka Corridor, enhancement of Shivrajpur and Somnath beaches, and tourist facility development at Kantharpur Mahakali Vad and Dharoi Dam.

In Vadnagar, five ongoing projects were reviewed, including an aqua screen projection and musical fountain at Sharmistha Lake, a public plaza and interpretation centre near the railway station, beautification of Saptarshi Aro and Dai Lake, and a music museum dedicated to Tana-Riri.

The review also covered infrastructure and social infrastructure projects worth ₹7,551 crore in the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), including an international airport, expressway, Dholera–Bhimnath railway line, hospitals, schools, fire stations, food courts, residential complexes, hotels, malls, and a tent city. A proposal to create a 516-hectare “Green Wall” through mangrove and forest buffer development was also discussed.

Updates were shared on Phase 2 of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail project (Motera to Mahatma Mandir corridor) and two corridors under the Surat Metro Rail Project.
