Gujarat clears ₹867-cr for highway project

The finance minister in Gujarat has approved ₹867 crore for six-laning of the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. Among other facilities, the project includes nine flyovers and railway over bridges and a 4.5-km elevated corridor, which will be the longest in Gujarat. The project will eas vehicular traffic as the highway from Gandhinagar to Rajkot will get a clear six lane stretch. The state government has already made provisions for Rs 2,893 crore for the six laning of the 201-km Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Rajkot road. Another major boost to urban infra development in Gujarat will include provision of Rs 250 crore under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Saheri Vikas Yojana, under which, 75 new flyovers will be built of which 54 will be in municipal corporation areas.
