GRSE Secures Landmark Deal with NHIDCL for Double-Lane Modular Bridges

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has signed a significant agreement with the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) for the fabrication, supply, and launch of Double-Lane Class 70 modular steel and Bailey bridges. The MoU was signed by Dr. Krishan Kumar, MD of NHIDCL, and Cmde PR Hari, CMD of GRSE, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
This deal involves the construction of Class 70R Double-Lane Bridges, exclusively designed by GRSE to enhance connectivity in key border areas, facilitating efficient troop and equipment movement. These bridges, developed under India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, are the only indigenous solution of their kind.
The bridges, with a carriageway width of 7.5 meters, allow two-way traffic and are built with high tensile steel for strength and durability. They are designed to support heavy vehicles and can be quickly erected in remote areas within 30 to 45 days.
GRSE's Portable Steel Bridge Division, recognized for its innovation, has supplied over 5,700 portable steel bridges across India and to international partners. This new partnership further solidifies GRSE's position as a leader in modular bridge solutions.
