The Central government has decided to invest ₹25,000 crore in building infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, said Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. The government has identified 25 projects covering sectors like irrigation, power generation and distribution, sports and tourism. The upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Investment Summit would be an opportunity for the UT to showcase its strengths, strategies and potential in different sectors. Six Union ministers have embarked on the first leg of the Centre's outreach in J&K, with commerce minister Piyush Goyal calling the erstwhile state the jewel in the crown and promising exemplary transformation after 70 years of deprivation. This is just the beginning of a journey that will change the lives and trigger fast-paced development across the region.
