Govt of India Awards ₹7.13 Cr DST-PURSE Grant to VBSP University

Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU) has received the Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE) grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It is among nine universities nationwide to receive the grant this year and the only recipient from Uttar Pradesh.
The DST-PURSE program, launched in 2009, supports research infrastructure and scientific advancements in Indian universities. Under this initiative, VBSPU has been awarded ₹7.13 crore to further research in solar energy, hydrogen energy, and advanced battery technology.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Vandana Singh highlighted that this achievement enhances the university’s prestige and strengthens Uttar Pradesh’s position in scientific innovation. A ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, will mark this milestone on National Science Day 2025.
