Injecting a major booster to the road and highway sector, Union Minister for Road Transport has recently laid the foundation stone for 74 km road project connecting Suratgarh and Anupgarh area of Rajasthan and also unveiled other infra projects involving an investment of Rs. 5,000cr. This will be the state's first road to be built using concrete cement. Along with this, he also launched a Rs. 383-cr- two-lane road project on NH 62, linking Suratgarh and Sri Ganganagar in the state, said official sources, elaborating that the government will complete numerous road projects under the Bharat Mala project elsewhere in the state connecting Sri Ganganagar, Raisinghnagar, Rawala, and Dantor. The construction of 1,312 km of roads has been approved for Rajasthan under the scheme and work will start in next 6 months. In yet another development, a link road connecting Jaisalmer and Barmer with Kandla port will be launched shortly.
