Govt launches ₹1,900-cr real estate projects

The Union Home Ministry has launched 28 major construction and infrastructure projects including building residential buildings for the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and SSB and also for the Delhi Police, involving an investment of ₹1,900 crore. The projects also involve construction of residential units for organizations such as the Land Ports Authority of India, the NDRF and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory. These units will house over 5,283 residential quarters and 71 non-residential buildings, 34 barracks and constructed works spread across 17 states such as, Assam, Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tripura, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttarakhand. Official sources in the home ministry said that the central government has been taking various measures towards capacity building of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and in the last five years alone, 1,773 infrastructure projects of the CAPFs have been sanctioned with a total outlay of Rs 12,060 crore.
