Govt clears ₹3,680 cr highway project in TN

Adding to the national highway network in Tamil Nadu, the Union transport ministry shortly after upgrading the Vikkravandi-Thanjavur state highway into national highway, has also approved a staggering sum of ₹3,680 crore. The recently sanctioned funds will be invested to upgrade the road stretch into four-way national highway and the widening work will be carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in cooperation with the state road building agencies, said an official spokesperson, claiming that the project is being undertaken on fast tracked basis so as it may be commissioned as quickly as possible.
