Goa launches road widening network in mining belt

road widening project
All national highways in mining belts will be eight lanes soon, with one mining corridor each on either side of the road. PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said that the mining corridor will be limited to mining areas while other places will have six lanes, including service roads. The state government has already submitted the proposal to the Centre informing that the state has identified land at Kasauli, near Mollem, to rehabilitate affected people who lose their land or houses to road widening, and a proposal to purchase the land has been sent to the Centre for its mandatory approvals.
