GHMC launches ₹1,120-cr road upgrade

Under an aggressive road upgrade exercise, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched road reconstruction work worth Rs. 1,120 crore, said official sources, explaining that out of the total targeted investment the GHMC has taken up road restoration activity worth Rs 720 crore and remaining Rs 400 crore is being spent by the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation (HRDC). Elaborating further on the project started recently, civic authorities said the sanctioned amount is being used to lay new roads, re-carpet damaged ones and carry out repairs where ever required and so on. Stretches where work is currently underway include Rethibowli, BN Reddy (LB Nagar) and Kachiguda road stretches. To ensure that the road rebuilding activity is on track and workers are adhering to deadlines, surprise inspections are being carried out by the empowered officials.
