GDA launches 6-km elevated road project

Ghaziabad Elevated Road
To further strengthen the road network in the area, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has recently started the construction work on the second section of Hindon elevated road. While the first section of the stretch, which is 6.3 km long, runs from UP Gate to Vasundhara, the second section stretch from Vasundhara to GT Road and the third section is also on the anvil, which will go till Raj Nagar Extension. In this connection, the nodal agency has begun installing slabs on piers that had already been erected for the second section of the elevated road. Work on installing slabs on piers is already under way in the first section and the agency hopes to complete the project before the set target, provided clearances for undertaking construction are accorded in a timely manner from different bodies, said a senior GDA official, adding that construction work is simultaneously under way on the first section of the road. The authority has set a December 2016 deadline for completion of the first two sections. The proposed four-lane elevated road will connect Raj Nagar Extension with NH-24 near UP Gate and is expected to cut down travel time for motorists and other road users drastically.
