Four firms clear technical & financial criteria for Jewar airport

Four infra building majors have cleared all technical and financial criteria for bids to develop the Jewar Intl' Airport shortly after the state government got possession of 80% of the land required for the project. Among the 20 bidders for the airport are GMR, Adani Group, Reliance, MIAL (Mumbai International Airport Limited), BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited), DIAL ((Delhi International Airport Limited), Airport Authority of India (AAI), ADP Hong Kong, Zurich Airport, L&T, Global Infrastructure, and Sterlite Power Grid. The technical and financial bids will be opened on November 6 and 29, respectively. Four firms have qualified the technical and financial requisites for the greenfield project, revealed nodal officer, Noida International Airport Limited, Shailendra Bhatia, adding that their names will be disclosed on November 6. The project will have a positive impact as it will attract investments and jobs in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. District magistrate BN Singh said that the main focus of the administration is to deliver the targeted land in a time-bound manner. The airport is coming up on 4,500 hectares of land entailing an investment of ₹20,000 crore and is expected to become operational by 2022-23.
