In its quest to provide quicker air connectivity across the country, the government has recently granted 'site clearances' for setting up three new airports in states including Rajasthan, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, said civil aviation ministry sources, elaborating that site clearances have been granted for a Greenfield Airport at Bhiwadi in Alwar district of Rajasthan and at Dagadarthi Mendal Nellore District of Karnataka and also Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam and Oravakallu in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. In addition, the Government has also received two proposals from Gujarat for setting up of Greenfield Airport at Dholera and Ankleshwar for which the ministry of civil aviation has granted 'in-principle' approval for setting up of Greenfield Airport at Dholera in Gujarat.
