EPACK Prefab Completes Phase-II Arrival Area at Darbhanga Airport
The new Phase-II Arrival Area, designed to accommodate up to 600 passengers per hour during peak times, covers an additional 1,700 square meters. This expansion brings the total area of the Darbhanga Airport to 3,100 square meters, enhancing its ability to manage increased passenger traffic efficiently.The expanded airport features: a) 15 check-in counters b) four security check lanes c) two X-ray machines for checked-in luggage d) two X-ray machines for hand baggage e) three conveyor belts f) four boarding gates. These upgrades are to significantly improve passengers’ experience along with streamlined operations.
Within two and half year after the phase 1 completion, the airport witnessed 4 times surge in the passengers from 2021 to 2023. The growing number of passengers at the airport after Phase I led to the expansion of the airport, with the Phase-II Arrival Area project. The tender of the airport expansion project was reclaimed by EPACK Prefab, after they had effectively completed construction of Phase-I.
The airport built under the central government’s initiative of the Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN, soon became the best-performing airport within the scheme, as it is effective meeting the demand and supply of the region catering to the Air travel needs of people. With this, city is poised to unlock the avenues for its growth and development by attracting investment, infrastructure development, and business expansion.

The Airport boasts of robust standing seam roofing system and durable PUF panels for the walls. These methodologies ensure both structural integrity and energy efficiency within the infrastructure.
