ECoR Implements Advanced Ballastless Track Technology in Tunnel Projects
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has introduced advanced ballastless track technology in its new railway tunnel construction projects, aiming to enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of rail transport. The initiative began with the Rheda 2000 Block System, which was installed in a 600-meter tunnel between Baiguda and Kakirigumma stations as part of the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling Project.
This technology will be extended to all under-construction tunnels in various ongoing projects, and ECoR plans to gradually replace existing tracks in tunnels with ballastless tracks in a phased approach.
